A close friend of the Nelon family and a member of the Jordan Family Band is in hospital after a kidney stone caused her to develop sepsis.
Heather Rose Jordan, a vocalist of the Christian band, was rushed to the emergency room Wednesday afternoon. Doctors quickly discovered that she had a 5mm kidney stone that they believed was causing a blockage.
A flurry of medical tests showed she had passed the stone. However, a significant infection has now entered her bloodstream.
Heather's parents said that nurses working alongside their daughter said that she was too young to be this sick.
"She is septic, her heart rate is too high, and her blood pressure is too low," said David and Melissa. "They have started IV antibiotics and meds to raise her blood pressure. Heather Rose Jordan is one tough cookie, so it is hard to see her like this."
Her husband, Hutch, is asking for prayer as he watches his wife fight for her life.
"This is new to me. I’ve never had to deal with something like this. I’m so used to being in control of what life throws at me, and now, the love of my life is lying in an ICU bed, and there’s not a thing I can do about it," said Hutch in a post on Facebook. "I would take it from her and put it all on me in the blink of an eye if I could. I’m scared. But yet, tonight, I have felt the loving arms of Jesus wrap around me and heard His tender voice say, “Why do you worry, son? I’ve got her, and I’ve got you.” It really is a peace that passes all understanding. No matter how big or how small the test. Please, keep praying for my beautiful wife."
The Jordan Family Band says this is serious and that they need all the prayers they can get.
"We’re all very concerned. Please keep praying for her, specifically for wisdom for the medical team, healing in her body, and strength for the hours ahead. We will update as we know more."
Heather has one daughter, Haelynn, who just turned one in December.
