Medicine Hat is gearing up for an exhilarating season of entertainment, arts, and community engagement, with major events announced for both the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre and Co-op Place.

Tobie Laliberte, Marketing Specialist with the City of Medicine Hat, says this year’s lineup is one you won’t want to miss.

“We’re excited to have big acts coming to Co-op Place this year. We just had Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Hunter Brothers will be here May 31, country music legends Terri Clark and Paul Brandt just announced they will be performing at Co-op Place on November 15 at 7:30 p.m. which adds to an already busy November there with Foreigner and Russel Peters all in the first half of the month,” said Laliberte. “They’re all going to be fantastic shows and tickets are selling fast at tixx.ca.”

Another major event on the fall calendar is the return of PBR (Professional Bull Riders), which hits Co-op Place on October 18 at 7:00 p.m.

In addition to big-ticket entertainment, hockey fans can now purchase tickets to the WHL Championship games featuring the Medicine Hat Tigers, also hosted at Co-op Place.

“This is a huge moment for local sports,” Laliberte added. “We’re seeing an incredible level of support from the community.”

Over at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre, preparations are in full swing for the upcoming 2025/2026 season announcement, scheduled for May 26. To build excitement, the Esplanade is launching a limited-time membership promotion from May 12 to 28, which boosts the usual $20 annual tixx.ca credit to $30.

“Esplanade members enjoy exclusive benefits like early presale access to shows at both the Esplanade and Co-op Place, exclusive deals and free tickets,” Laliberte explained. “

Beyond the perks, an Esplanade membership supports the cultural and historical fabric of Medicine Hat.

“When you become a member, you’re supporting arts and heritage in our community – and our members are proud to do that,” said Laliberte.

In addition to the performances, they’re launching something new this year – Open House Saturdays at the Heritage House next to The Esplanade. Running through May and June, the events will offer interactive experiences for all ages.

“These open house days are a great opportunity to explore a part of our local heritage in a hands-on, engaging way,” Laliberte shared. “We want people to feel connected to both the past and the future of arts and culture in our city.”
