Aspiring football players and coaches in the Outlook area will have a chance to learn from some of the province’s best when the Selects Football Rural Road Show rolls into town next month.
The event is set for Saturday, June 14, 2025, at R.B. Lyons Field (505 Franklin Street) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and for the first time ever, the camp will focus not just on athletes, but also on coach development.
The all-day event offers a full practice-style experience led by a team of highly qualified coaches with backgrounds in the CFL, U Sports, and Canadian Junior Football. Participants will go through on-field skill development sessions designed to replicate a Selects Football practice, while coaches will benefit from dedicated classroom sessions tackling key challenges facing local football programs.
“This is about bringing the Selects experience right to your doorstep,” said organizers. “Whether it’s helping players sharpen their fundamentals or supporting coaches with tools and strategies, we’re here to help communities build stronger programs.”
A highlight of the day is the Coaching Forum and Presentation, featuring pre-arranged topics customized to suit each group’s specific needs. Coaches will receive teaching points and practical guidance they can apply in their own programs.
The camp is also customizable for both players and coaches, allowing schools or teams to request content that targets specific areas of interest or need, both on and off the field.
Registration is $105 per player and $50 per coach, with coaching fees waived if four players from the same team register.
