Biggar RCMP responded to 34 occurrences over the past week, including traffic violations, fraud reports, and livestock wandering near a highway.

Officers addressed 10 traffic safety-related interactions, including a serious single-vehicle rollover involving a 47-year-old man driving a 2008 Ford F-350. The crash, which occurred on gravel roads, was attributed to excessive speed and bald tires, according to RCMP. The man was assisted at the scene by Eagle Creek first responders.

A herd of cows on the loose was also reported along Highway 14, approximately 10 kilometres east of Perdue. While the cattle remained in the ditch and did not cause any accidents, police say drivers should continue to use caution in rural areas.

RCMP located a 2003 white Chevrolet Silverado pulling a stolen flat-deck trailer on Highway 51 south of Springwater. Two men, aged 46 and 32, were issued appearance notices and are scheduled to appear in Biggar Provincial Court on July 2.

In other incidents, a man from Dundurn reported being defrauded after he left motorcycle carburetors with a small engine repair person and has since been unable to recover them.

Police also received a report of a suspected fraudster approaching local businesses offering leftover asphalt for sale. The man was located and found to be the subject of an immigration warrant. He was turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

RCMP also dealt with a 17-year-old female, who was arrested at a local gas station for causing a disturbance while heavily intoxicated. Officers returned her to the care of her grandmother, and no charges were laid.

Biggar RCMP remind residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
