Emergency crews were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision this morning at the intersection of Brandt Street and Reimer Avenue in Steinbach.
Steinbach Fire Chief Kel Toews says the call came in around 8:30 a.m.
“Single occupant in both vehicles, one person was taken to hospital. I'm not sure of the nature of the injuries. The second operator was released at the scene.”
The intersection was shut down for about 45 minutes while crews cleared the scene.
With large fires breaking out in parts of Manitoba, Toews is also reminding the public that a Level 2 fire ban remains in effect for the city.
“Which means basically if you're having a fire, it's got to be in a fully enclosed pit or a barbecue. No open fires at all allowed at this time.”
Although Steinbach has avoided grass fires so far this season, residents need to be cautious.
