Kindersley provincial court saw a light docket Monday, with several cases resolved or moved forward.
Charges against Amanda Watson were brought back to Kindersley after previously being transferred to Saskatoon provincial court. Her last lawyer withdrew from the case, and she has since been assigned a new legal aid lawyer. The matter was adjourned to May 20 to allow her new counsel time to review the file. Watson faces charges of trafficking illegal substances and possession of property obtained by crime.
All charges against Alex Smarch were stayed by the provincial Crown following three unsuccessful attempts at holding a trial. Smarch had been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and possession contrary to a court order.
The Crown also withdrew charges against Mindy Rumbolt, which included possession of property obtained by crime and mischief.
