Rob Carnie - Construction. We are up and running. The Cast Iron Water Main Replacement is underway in downtown Moose Jaw and on 4th Ave. SW on South Hill.

How are you getting to working back? It's very difficult downtown these days.

Maryse Carmichael - It is difficult, but it's for good a good reason.

We say there's two seasons in Canada: there's winter and construction season.

Well, we're in it and it's good because that means we're working on our infrastructure, and Moose Javians are used to the cast iron infrastructure program.

We're doing a new portion of our city this year, yes, very close to City Hall and Fairford Street West and the work is currently underway.

Many residents will have noticed that the intersection of Main and Fairford is currently closed. We're expecting that to reopen the week of the 26th of May. So, that is coming up really soon.

We're starting on the zero block of Fairford Street West right now and we're going to move west throughout the summer.

Just a quick reminder to all the residents: businesses are open as usual. Keep going to Verobas to the (Yvette Moore Gallery) today because those businesses are open.

Rob - Speaking of it being a little tough getting around downtown, I know the city of Moose Jaw wants to limit the number of vehicles going down the alleys on the west and south sides of City Hall because our Moose Jaw Police Service doesn't have access to Fairford Street.

Our Moose Jaw Police Service Vehicles need to get out of their parking lot, and sometimes very quickly. So, you'd like people to limit their use of those back alleys, right?

Maryse – That's so right, behind City Hall, there's a big parking lot there between that parking lot on 1st Ave. NW and the Conexus Bank and some of the businesses there to limit their driving in that back alley because that's the (entrance and exit from the Moose Jaw Police station).

Rob - Construction on South Hill, on 4th Ave. SW, is also underway.

Maryse - More of the (Infrastructure Renewal Program) is happening on South Hill, we're continuing some of the work. Last year we did a good portion on Coteau Street, so now the work has begun on 4th Ave. Southwest from Coteau to Duffield, so more improvements are coming your way.

Rob - We can keep tabs on summer construction from water main replacement to road repair online, correct?

Maryse - There’s a new, interactive, portion of our website for all those capital projects. You can go have a look and see the progress on all those capital projects this summer. So, whether it's a capital project on infrastructure renewal or on other infrastructure in the city, have a look at the MooseJaw.ca.
