Local students, staff, and community members are enjoying the latest upgrades to their school after a project that took around three years to complete.

Kyle Composite School hosted its Grand Re-Opening on Monday, May 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a chance for visitors to check out the much-needed improvements.

Penny Calvert, principal at Kyle Composite School, shared that the renovations included the resizing of the building, upgrades to the library, brighter spaces with natural light, and technology upgrades, including a new phone system.

"To finally have everything open so the community can finally come in and see all the changes, it's nice to be bringing the project to a close," she said. "It was basically in two pieces, we lost a whole piece of the building, so last year we were moved over to that piece.

"Then we packed all of that up in June so that we could move into this piece for September."

Quorex, a Saskatchewan-based construction company, was responsible for the renovations, which are the school's third to have been completed.

"[Teachers and students] were very excited; it was like Christmas every time something happened, so from September until now, it has been exciting," Calvert added.
