The Alberta RCMP Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) arrested two suspects in connection to a series of break and enters in southern Alberta. 

Police became aware of the break and enters in April, which targeted cannabis dispensaries, convenience stores, liquor stores, and other rural businesses.

"The suspects also began targeting houses in Banff to steal bikes and homes in Chestermere targeting open garages and vehicles," wrote SAD CRU.

According to RCMP, the suspects were allegedly using stolen vehicles to commit the break-ins.

On May 2, police arrested 36-year-old Chaylee Eagle Plume Bruised Head of Blood Tribe First Nation, and 38-year-old James Tylor Stuart of Calgary.

Eagle Plume Bruised Head was charged with:

  • Break and enter (x7)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x4)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x3)
  • Failing to comply with release orders (x5)
  • Wearing a disguise to commit an offence

Stuart was charged with:

  • Break and enter (x2)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x2)
  • Failing to comply with release orders (x4)
  • Wearing a disguise to commit an offence
  • Possession of break in tools

Stuart was also included as part of the Wanted Wednesday program for a series of crimes in Calgary, Brooks, Langdon, and Strathmore.

Both suspects remain in custody, with Eagle Plume Bruised Head appearing in court on May 16 in Calgary, and Stuart appearing in an Okotoks court on May 30.
