Strathmore ice rink closed after Mother's Day paint job

The ice rinks at the Strathmore Family Centre are officially closed for the season.

The Gold Arena was shut down following the final public skate on Mother's Day, which ended with residents being able to paint the rink surface.

The event was free to attend for those who brought in a donation to the Wheatland County Food Bank. 

The Gold Arena is open for the ice season between August and May, while the Blue Arena is iced between July and March.

There has been no definitive date for when the ice surface will return to the Family Centre in 2025.
