The Saskatchewan Health Authority is advising southwest residents of measles exposure risk as a result of several confirmed cases.
Locations that have been identified as measles exposure risk areas include locations in Swift Current, Gravelbourg, Assiniboia, Ponteix, and Outlook.
Swift Current:
Cowtown on Thursday, May 8, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Walmart on Thursday, May 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Gravelbourg:
Saint Joesph's Hospital, emergency waiting room and acute care wing on Wednesday, May 7, between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Gravelbourg Family Pharmacy on Wednesday, May 7, between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Assiniboia:
Harvey’s Home Center on Saturday, May 3, from 12:0 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Southland Co-op Gas Station on Saturday, May 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Southland Co-op Grocery Store on Saturday, May 3, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
B & A Petroleum on Monday, May 5, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Assiniboia Post Office on Monday, May 5, between 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Co-op Hardware Store on Monday, May 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Shoppers Drug Mart on Monday, May 5, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Ponteix:
Ponteix Post Office on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Outlook:
Dairy Queen on Friday, May 9, between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Symptoms of measles can include fever, cough, red eyes, rash, runny nose, fatigue, and white spots inside the mouth and throat.
Folks can monitor for symptoms, and anyone who may have been exposed may be eligible for preventative treatment for up to six days after exposure.
Those that are experiencing symptoms are advised to call the HealthLine811 for information and anyone seeking emergency medical attention with symptoms is asked to call ahead before arriving in order for staff to take the proper precautions.
