Pet owners across Canada have a chance to see their furry companions featured in Pet Valu’s Companions for Change 2026 Calendar, with proceeds from the contest supporting animal welfare organizations nationwide.
To enter, participants are invited to upload their favourite photo of their pet along with a short description of the moment captured. Final selections will be determined by public vote, with winning pets showcased in the 2026 calendar.
Funds raised through the calendar initiative will benefit Companions for Change, Pet Valu’s charitable program that supports animal rescues, local charities, and pet-related causes across the country. Since its launch in 2010, the program has raised more than $23 million and helped over 41,000 homeless animals find permanent homes.
This year, Kindersley's Pet Valu will be putting the money raised all year towards KAWS Animal Rescue, who works towards finding forever homes for stray, abused, and neglected animals in the Kindersley area.
In 2023, Companions for Change made a major impact by raising $3.5 million, including support for the construction of the Regina Humane Society’s Animal Community Centre. As the exclusive Pet Specialty Retail Sponsor of the Adoption Street, Pet Valu helped bring to life a modern facility designed to enhance animal assisting services for homeless, lost, or abused animals in Regina and the surrounding area.
