More residents are being allowed back to their properties in the Lac du Bonnet area.

Late Sunday afternoon, residents living south of PR 313 in Lac du Bonnet were allowed to return home

At 4 p.m. Monday, based on recommendations from Manitoba Wildfire Service, the RM of Lac du Bonnet began allowing residents in the Cape Coppermine area from Widgeon Row to George Carteret Way to re-enter the area.

As of 5:30 p.m., residents in the Cape Coppermine area from Merganser Drive to Arnolds Co-op to are allowed to re-enter the area.

According to Lac du Bonnet Emergency Management, evacuation orders may be lifted for other areas in the region shortly.

Residents are asked to be aware of hazards on or near roads and wooded areas and to be respectful of your neighbours during this process as everyone is anxious to get into their homes.

The Wildfire Service and the RM of Lac du Bonnet Emergency Management staff thanks everyone for their patience during this unprecedented event.
