Nearly two years after stepping away from her family band, We The Kingdom, Franni Cash is finally sharing the heart behind her decision.
Through her latest single as a solo artist, "Koolaid," Cash opens up about the personal journey that led her to walk away from the chart-topping Christian group.
"I left my band of seven years, not because I was running from something but because I was running toward something," said Cash. "Toward using my voice to tell my story so I could connect on a deeper level."
Cash recently signed a record deal with Capital Christian Music Group this week, the same label as Chris Tomlin, Anne Wilson, TobyMac, Kari Jobe, Crowder, and other great Christian artists.
Her first song, "Wildflowers," was released in April, and she described it as the first bloom of a new season of clarity and peace for her.
She hopes this new single,"Koolaid," will have people up on their feet during the summer months. She also hopes it will reach those who need it.
"I'm taking creative risks, chasing new sounds, letting myself explore," said Cash in a post on Instagram. "And this new song? It's a total summer bop, but if you listen closely, there's a deeper meaning underneath. It's fun, it's honest, and it's just the beginning. I'm so excited for the road ahead, and I'm glad you're here with me."
This fall, Cash will open for Brandon Lake with his 'King of Hearts Tour.'
