Traffic was backed up this morning for motorists heading out of Steinbach along Hwy 12 north as Manitoba Infrastructure began a surface rehabilitation project.
Road construction crews were seen along Hwy 12 north, in the southbound lanes heading into Steinbach from Clearsprings Road to Golfair Road.
Traffic moved slowly along Hwy 12 heading north as well, as motorists realized that the intersection at Golfair Road, turning west onto the Clearspring Centre parking lot, was closed off by road construction crews.

During the road resurfacing project, both northbound and southbound lanes of Hwy 12 are expected to be affected over the next four months.
In total, 12.2 kilometres from Park Road in Steinbach to the Seine River Diversion, south of Ste. Anne will be resurfaced.
Construction started on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 and is expected to be completed by the fall of this year.
