The 2025 Strathmore High School Rodeo took place over the weekend, drawing student competitors from across the province.

The 54th annual event was held at the Strathmore Agricultural Grounds on May 17 and 18. The competition is a part of the Alberta High School Rodeo Association (AHSRA).

"Strathmore High School Rodeo is the last rodeo of the Spring rodeo schedule before finalists from all over the province compete in the AHSRA finals in June," said Danielle Paddock with the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society.

There are several events at the competition, including bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc, goat tying, bareback riding, pole bending, breakaway roping, and more.

“This community-driven, not-for-profit event is entirely volunteer-run and offers a unique opportunity for corporate partners to make a lasting impact,” the Strathmore Stampede said on its website.

“We would also like to give a special shoutout to our rodeo committee for your hard work behind the scenes,” the organization added. “We couldn’t do it without you.”

The event was sponsored by several local supporters, including the Animal Care Centre, Fortis, DR Hydrovac, Integra Tire, the Strathmore Travelodge, Integra Tire, the Johansen family, Cattleland Feedyards, Back to Health Chiropractic, Langdon Bottle Depot, Jesse Cockx, the Western Irrigation District, and the Strathmore Legion.
