KidSport Grande Prairie and Sport Central are teaming up to help local kids get off the sidelines and into the game.
From May 29 to May 31, community members are encouraged to donate gently used sports equipment at the Sport Equipment Drive, supporting young athletes in need.
The collection dates and locations are:
· Thursday, May 29 | 3 PM – 7 PM at Evergreen Park (Parking Lot D, 55051 Township Road 710)
· Friday, May 30 | 11 AM – 5 PM at Keddie’s Trailers (9724 132 Avenue)
· Saturday, May 31 | 10 AM – 3 PM at Keddie’s Trailers (9724 132 Avenue)
A BBQ fundraiser will also take place on Saturday, May 31, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Keddie’s, with all proceeds supporting KidSport.
Most needed items include:
· Balls (soccer, basketball, volleyball, football)
· Baseball gloves
· Bicycles (sizes 20” and 24”)
· Scooters
· Gym/duffle bags
· Badminton equipment
“We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines because of financial barriers,” says Karna Germsheid, Regional Manager of KidSport Grande Prairie. “Donations of new or gently used equipment help local kids get active, build friendships, and develop skills through sport.”
The community is invited to come out, donate, enjoy a BBQ, and help make a difference in the lives of young athletes.
