STARS Air Ambulance provided a report to the Town of Strathmore for the council meeting on Wednesday, May 21.
In the report, STARS gave several statistics for the amount of calls they get in Wheatland County.
According to STARS, they responded to 29 calls throughout the county in 2024. Out of those calls, 11 of them were at the Strathmore Hospital, and 4 were near the Strathmore Area. There were also two calls in Siksika Nation, four calls near Carseland, and five near Gleichen.
There were 16 less calls made than in 2023, which saw 45 calls throughout the county.
"Over the past 15-years, because of your support, STARS was able to carry out 462 critical inter-facility, search and rescue and scene missions within Wheatland County, the Town of Strathmore, and the hospital that serves your area," wrote STARS to the town. "Thank you for helping to support the residents of the Town of Strathmore in the communities where they live, work and play."
The group also thanked the town for contributing $10,000 to the organization.
STARS claims that 3,927 missions were flown in 2024 alone, with 18 per cent of them due to cardiac incidents.
