A packed house of over 19,000 lacrosse fans will be cheering on their Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, 'Banditland' welcoming in the Saskatchewan Rush for this weekend's winner-take-all Game 3 of the NLL Finals.
After a loss in Game 1 on the road last Friday, the Rush returned home to SaskTel Centre on Sunday and won a tight game 11-10 to setup tomorrow's championship finale. Leading scorer Austin Shanks scored three times and picked up five assists to add to his Rush franchise playoff record in both categories, Zach Manns had a six-point night, and goalie Frank Scigliano made 40 saves in the victory.
The Rush are gunning for their fourth title in franchise history, last winning in 2018 in another winner take all Game 3. The Rush arrived in Saskatchewan with a championship team in 2016 and rewarded their fanbase with a title immediately, before losing in the finals in 2017, but climbing the mountain again in 2018. Looking to return to the former Rush glory, standing in their way is a Bandits team looking for their third straight NLL Championship.
Saturday's game is an early one, set for 2:30 PM Saskatchewan time. Rush fans can tune in to the game live on TSN 5, or the TSN app, and pound their chest from home as the Rush look to bring a title home to the prairies.
