Shepherd, Scherger, and Mustangs fall short in Centennial Cup for second straight year
West Central hockey fans had plenty to cheer for as Kerrobert’s Austin Shepherd and Macklin’s Tye Scherger helped guide the Melfort Mustangs back to the Centennial Cup Final. After a strong run through the tournament, the Mustangs fell 7-2 to the host Calgary Canucks—coming up just short of the national title for the second straight year.

Unity receives over $13K as part of provincial gaming grant boost
Unity led the way locally, receiving over $13,600 in total. Other top recipients included Kindersley at nearly $10,000 and Delisle at just over $7,100. Grants are issued quarterly and represent 25% of net revenue from licensed charitable gaming like raffles, bingos, and Monte Carlo nights.

Senior baseball is back in the Battle River Baseball League, after the Macklin Lakers hosted Czar at 7:00 PM to begin their title defense.
