Categories

The Wheatland and Adjacent Districts Emergency Medical Services Association (WADEMSA) provided a report to Strathmore town council on Wednesday, May 5.

The report went over statistics, upcoming events, and the organization's needs.

There were around 170 calls in April 2025, down from 176 the previous year.

For the year to date, there have been 1456 calls, a slight increase to the 1322 calls in 2024.

WADEMSA also showcased the teddy bears for kids' program, which gives small children a Nutrien and WADEMSA-branded teddy bear at call scenes.

The group is also looking at one or two new ambulances to replace the current fleet, with an approximate deliver of 24 to 26 months.

WADEMSA also brought up their upcoming long-term service and retirement awards dinner, which is set for May 27. The event will honour Rob Witty and Donna Hendricks, who spent 33 years and 20 years with the group, respectively.

The report was accepted as information at the council meeting.
