The Wildlife Havens Wild baby shower fundraiser was a hit in the southeast on Saturday.

Zoe Nikata with the wildlife haven says that the event was much larger than expected.

“The turn out today is just so heartwarming. Seeing that we have got so many folks from the community, come and spend their time, give donations whether items or monetary is just so fantastic. Our turnout is double if not triple what we thought we’d get today, so we’re just over the moon”.

Nikata says that they have done events like this in the past, but they revamped it in order to involve the community more.

“A lot of folks are interested in being part in saving these babies which is what we love to see. We can see that they are super engaged.”

This event featured games for the kids, tours, wildlife bingo, and so much more. All of the proceeds go towards taking care of baby animals.

“This time of year, we can get up to 800 animals in the span of just a few months and it takes a lot of resources to take care of those animals.

There are tons of animals at the wildlife haven with amazing stories and members of the community enjoyed being able to see the wildlife in person.
