RCMP stopped a motorist travelling nearly double the speed limit down Steinbach Main Street over the weekend.
According to police, the individual was clocked at 92 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a 50 km/h zone on Friday at 11:25 pm. The individual received a ticket for $599.
Steinbach RCMP report there were several traffic offence notices issued over the weekend. One motorist was ticketed $672 for driving while disqualified, there were two motorists fined $298 each for driving an unregistered vehicle, one motorist was ticketed $237 for having open liquor in a vehicle, one motorist who was fined $113 for failing to produce a driver's license and then speeding tickets ranged from $285 to $599.
Meanwhile, RCMP received 52 calls for service over the weekend. This includes a 19-year-old female from Mitchell, who faces charges of assault. The incident occurred Saturday afternoon along Ellice Avenue.
