It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Fehr on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 76 years of age. Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her husband Elmer; her children Michael (Chantelle), Kristine, Kelly, and Kelsey; her grandchildren Zachary, Nathaniel, Zoe, Emma, Benjamin, and Alexander; her brother Jake and sister Tina (John); along with many nieces and nephews. Sarah is pre-deceased by her parents Johann and Maria Guenter; her brothers Cornie, Peter, John, and Abe; and her sisters Maria, Judith, and Mary.
Sarah grew up in Gretna, Manitoba. She left her small hometown for Winnipeg, where she worked various jobs before finding her career with Manitoba Public Insurance. Beginning as a data entry operator, Sarah’s hard work and initiative saw her quickly promoted to supervisor of the department. It was in Winnipeg that Sarah met Elmer Fehr. They married on August 28, 1983, and shared forty-one beautiful years and four children together.
In 1989 Sarah and Elmer moved out to La Salle, wanting to give their children the same small-town upbringing they had both enjoyed. There Sarah dedicated herself to raising her four children. Sarah loved crafting, puzzling, and hosting family dinners. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Sarah will be remembered for her strength, her empathy, and her generous nature. Her quick wit and loving personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held at Thomson in the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Service will be broadcast through Thomson in the Park at: https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/110692
A private internment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada in Sarah’s memory.
