WILKIE, Sask. — Wilkie RCMP responded to a range of incidents between May 20 and 26, including thefts, a vehicle collision, and multiple mental health calls.

Mounties responded to two separate theft complaints. One remains under investigation, while the other was closed due to insufficient evidence. Officers also attended a break-and-enter complaint, which was closed for similar reasons.

Police issued a traffic ticket following a two-vehicle collision in Wilkie. No injuries were reported. During a separate traffic stop, members issued a 21-day roadside suspension to a driver.

A complaint of fraud was received, but it did not result in charges due to a lack of evidence. Officers also spoke with individuals following a trespassing complaint.

Wilkie RCMP responded to two Mental Health Act complaints, with individuals transported by EMS to Unity Hospital and Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment. Members also conducted a well-being check at the request of a concerned friend.

CN Police reported two railway crossing malfunctions in Landis during the week. Both incidents were recorded for information purposes.

An investigation into a complaint of harassing communications is ongoing.

RCMP continue to encourage residents to report certain non-emergency crimes — including theft under $5,000, mischief, and harassing communications — through the Saskatchewan Online Crime Reporting tool at ocre-sielc.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/saskatchewan.

Anyone with information about crimes in the Unity, Wilkie, or Macklin areas can contact their local RCMP detachment or call Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
