The Humboldt Broncos have received a commitment from 2007-born defenceman Ben Fofonoff for the 2025-26 season.
The Williams Lake, BC product spent the past season with the Caribou Cougars U18 AAA program registering 25 points (3G-22A) in 36 games. He finished with the most points for defencemen with the Cougars and ranked 7th among defencemen in the league.
“Ben comes from a highly regarded program with the Cariboo Cougars, where we’ve had Broncos come from and be extremely successful before. He’s the new-age defenceman that moves pucks and creates offence from the back end. We are really excited about our young D-core we have added and they should instantly push our veterans for playing time,” said Head Coach and GM, Brayden Klimosko in a team release.
Among the Cougars graduates that have joined the Broncos in recent years include Marik Mamic and Josh Sale.
