After securing the second three-peat in franchise history last year, the Okotoks Dawgs are feeling confident for the 2025 season.
The Dawgs home opener game is tomorrow (May 31), with the first pitch flying at 7:05 p.m., at Seaman Stadium.
William Gardner, VP of Promotions said topping the 2024 season will take some doing, but the organization has the coaching staff and the athletes to make it happen.
“We've got three. We're going for four, and we want more,” he said.
Returning for the 2025 season is Connor Crowson, who is excited to play another season in front of hometown fans and chase another championship.
“I just have to play the game the right way. Anyone can beat you at this level of baseball, so I'll just play the game the right way and everything will go our way,” he said.
With the core returning, and a few new players hitting the field, Crowson is confident the Dawgs will have a successful season.
“We bought a bunch of new guys in. Obviously, we lost a few guys, but we have enough guys to bring home another championship,” he said.

New to the Dawgs this year is Zane Skansi, from Campbellsville University.
Skansi was inspired to join the team after hearing about the experience and fan atmosphere from friends who have played in Okotoks.
“I like the guys so far. Everybody's really cool and I'm excited to get going,” he said. “I'm feeling good, my swing feels good, everything feels good.”
Lou Pote, head coach is excited for the new players to experience the atmosphere of Seaman Stadium on Saturday night.
“One of my favourite things is opening night just to see them walk out, see the crowd and the energy. A lot of these guys don't get to experience crowds like this,” he said. “Just to see them grow throughout the year and be accepted by the community is awesome.”
