ROSETOWN, Sask. — Rosetown residents will have the chance to share ideas and concerns with local leaders in a casual setting during an upcoming “Coffee with Council” session, set for Tuesday, June 3, at the Elks Hall.
The informal gathering will run from 7 to 8 p.m. and is intended to improve communication between the public and municipal leaders, said Mayor Trevor Hay.
“It’s an informal, relaxing atmosphere,” said Hay. “We’re there to listen to concerns and ideas from residents. It was started as an initiative from the council to allow for better access.”
Hay said the event gives community members an opportunity to meet the entire council and have direct conversations without the formality of a traditional council meeting.
“It just provides easier access for people to speak their mind,” he said. “If you have some concerns to discuss or ideas to share, this is the place to do it.”
If successful, the town may host similar events monthly or every two months, Hay added.
Residents are encouraged to attend and bring their thoughts, questions, and ideas to help shape the future of the town.
