As wildfires continue to ravage parts of Manitoba, communities across the province are stepping up to support those affected.
We've already seen amazing examples of generosity and support right here in the Southeast, as community members have taken it upon themselves to help out evacuees, firefighters, and townsites that have been threatened by fires.
Now, with the number of evacuees increasing sharply and the province declaring a state of emergency, the Canadian Red Cross is coordinating relief efforts, providing essential aid to evacuees, and assisting in recovery operations.
While the immediate threat of wildfires remains low in Steinbach, the community feels the impact deeply. The spirit of solidarity is evident as neighbours come together to support fellow Manitobans in need.
To contribute to the relief efforts, donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross's 2025 Manitoba Wildfires Appeal. Funds will be used to provide immediate assistance, support evacuation centres, and aid in long-term recovery. These funds will be used to support evacuees and affected communities province-wide.
