The 365 Kindersley Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron wrapped up its training year with its Annual Ceremonial Review on May 29.

The event, held at the Norman Ritchie Centre, serves as the squadron’s official year-end celebration before cadets head off to summer training or break for the season.

The evening began at 7 p.m. with the arrival of Reviewing Officer Dale Harpestad of the Eston Legion, escorted by commanding officer Capt. Ian Kehrer. Cadets and guests stood for the playing of O Canada, followed by a formal inspection of the squadron and a march past.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards and promotions. This year, Warrant Officer 2nd Class S. Winter received the Wildlife Federation Top Marksman award. Leading Air Cadet G. Fehr was named Most Improved Cadet. Corporal N. Rast received the Most Dedicated Cadet award, and the Top Attendance Award was shared by Rast and Corporal C. Carnell.

Harpestad addressed the squadron before the general salute and the playing of God Save the King. The formal portion of the evening concluded with cadets being dismissed to enjoy refreshments and present displays showcasing highlights from the training year.

The Air Cadet program is open to youth aged 12 to 18, offering opportunities in aviation, leadership, citizenship, and physical fitness. Cadets may also participate in specialized activities such as aviation, effective speaking, marksmanship, and music, and many components of the program support requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
