Providence University College and Theological Seminary is inviting southern Manitoba to help them celebrate 100 years in the community with a concert featuring Zach Williams and opener Jordan St. Cyr.
"It's amazing to represent 100 years of legacy and 100 years of service to the Manitoba community, the church, and our alumni students," says Kent Anderson, President of Providence in Otterburne, MB. "I've been a part of this for four years. I can't take too much credit, but I'm very grateful to steward this school at this particularly significant moment."
There will be a celebration weekend Sept. 5-7, including a gala on Friday, and a concert on Saturday.
"We have a gala event happening at the RBC Convention Centre in downtown Winnipeg. If anyone is interested in being a part of that, they can let us know."
The concert on Saturday evening will take place at the brand-new Southeast Event Centre, located in Steinbach.
"We're hosting a major concert, featuring Zach Williams and Jordan St. Cyr. Tickets are for sale, and you can get them by going to our website. To welcome artists of the calibre of Zach Williams and Jordan St. Cyr for this historic occasion is a true blessing and a perfect way to honour our legacy."
This stop in Steinbach is the only Canadian date on Williams' tour list this year. While the concert is hosted by Providence for their centennial celebration, it is open to the public to attend.
"We're trusting the community will come out and we'll have a big crowd to be able to enjoy good music, worship, and celebrate Providence."
