Expect a "Green Monster" like wall in Unity when the ballpark reconstruction is complete

A big weekend of work is ahead at Cardinal Diamond in Unity as they continue the reconstruction of their ball diamond, in hopes that it will be ready by the playoffs.

Team members and volunteers are turfing the field between June 5-6-7. Starting Thursday morning and going until they finish, they are looking for volunteers who are willing to spend some time at the diamond this weekend, offering free lunch and beverages, and also Cardinals' season tickets for anyone who wants to help.

For this week's ball report we talked with Cardinals player Cory Wildeman, one of the organizers behind the diamond revitalization. He talked about the work ahead, community support in terms of fundraising and physical labour, and we also had to chat about the Cardinals 5-1 start, playing their home games so far out of Wilkie.

Wildeman also gave a shoutout to a few key volunteers to the project. One of the fundraisers they have is a crop planted near town, massive thanks going to Pattison Ag for seeding the field, Marina Alexander with Bayer for supplying seed and chemical, and COOP for donating fertilizer. The Town of Unity has also been there every step of the way to help the Cardinals get back home.

Listen below as Wildeman invited the public to come on out this weekend and help accelerate their return to Unity. The OSY Rentals Ball Report airs every Thursday and Friday just after 5 PM on Country 104 and Classic Hits Radio 1210 1330.
