A Macklin man is facing multiple charges after Unity RCMP seized drugs and ammunition during a traffic stop on May 26.

RCMP say officers stopped a speeding truck in Macklin around 7 p.m. The man was arrested at the scene for driving with suspended. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found approximately 232 grams of methamphetamine, 35 grams of cocaine and five grams of psilocybin. All substances are suspected and have been sent to Health Canada for testing.

They also found ammunition, and a magazine located in the vehicle. The driver was under several court-ordered firearm and ammunition prohibitions at the time.

As a result, 33-year-old Nicholas Desrochers of Makclin has been charged with two charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ammunition while prohibited, and possession of a prohibited device.

Desrochers is scheduled to appear in North Battleford provincial court on June 6.
