Randy Boehmer

July 29, 1955 ~ May 28, 2025

With his daughter by his side, Randy passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 69 years.

Left to cherish Randy’s memory is his mother, Marie Boehmer; daughter, Leah (Jeff) Hirst; son, Blaise (Jess) Boehmer; grandchildren, Sophia and Charlotte Hirst and Lennon Boehmer-Sinclair; sisters, Wanda (Norbert) Schidlowsky, Wendy (Robin) Mudryk and Marni (Jade) Verishine; nieces, Brandy Mudryk and Ellen McKay; nephews, Brody and Brendan Mudryk, Jared and Jordan Schidlowsky and Levi, Daniel, Aaron, Justin Lind and Jacob Verishine. He was predeceased by his father, Harold Boehmer.

Randy grew up at the Trans Canada Pipeline Station in Caronport, Saskatchewan and graduated grade 12 when he was 16 years old. He spent a number of years in Alberta and Saskatchewan with his family and had his own consulting business with the pipeline. Randy’s true enjoyment came from traveling to far off places in which he frequently visited Africa, and Asia to snorkel and photograph wild animals. He had many humorous and wild stories of the Vervet monkeys, encounters with poachers and how to order a beer in several languages. More recently, Randy enjoyed his summer vacations at Grandview Beach with the Mudryk family, as well as many ‘grandpa suppers’ every Sunday with Leah and Jeff, Ron and his twin granddaughters. He enjoyed reading, watching movies and listening to music. Randy had an affinity for knowledge and experiences, which made him an excellent person to have on your Trivial Pursuit team. He taught many of us about having compassion and empathy, despite a person’s struggles. Randy was grateful to everyone that spent time with him and he will be dearly missed.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at River Ridge Seniors Village for the care they provided to Randy over the past several years. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
