The third annual Kleefeld Car Show took place at the Kleefeld Rec Center today, bringing in car lovers across the community.

Many car enthusiasts entered in the show last minute after seeing signs posted around town. The community was eager to get involved and share their common interests with others.

Riley Friesen, chair of Kleefeld’s recreation committee, has been in charge of organizing this event for the past 3 years. Freisen says that his favourite part of the event is bringing people together.

“It's just the camaraderie of the car guys, truck guys, just collectors in general.  Every vehicle has a really unique story and has its own unique look and it's just a wonderful way to connect locals with the passion that they have and to show off what they have to the community.”

Freisen notes that this event is for everyone, not just those interested in cars.

“You know, you don't have to necessarily like cars in order to come to a car show. It's just about the community aspect of it and visiting with people and just being a part of a community event together.”

All of the funds raised by this event go back into the town, raising money for outdoor rink upgrades.

Freisen says that throwing events that give back to the community benefits everyone.

“It's a great way for people to connect and for the young kids to see what the older people are up to. And it's a great way, a cohesive way to get together.”
