SaskTel announced this week that an additional 38 communities in Saskatchewan will gain access to its ultra-fast infiNET service, aimed at providing faster and more reliable internet connectivity for residents and businesses.

“Our government is delivering for Saskatchewan people by directing SaskTel to expand its high-speed broadband network to small towns and villages across our province through the Rural Fibre Initiative,” said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “With SaskTel’s infiNET service now available in 38 additional communities, more families and businesses will benefit from faster internet and enhanced connectivity. Whether it’s supporting students with online learning, helping businesses grow, or keeping families connected, this investment is another step toward building a stronger, more connected Saskatchewan.”

Among the new communities to receive the service are several in the west central region, including Cabri, Elrose, Eston, Kerrobert and Wilkie.

This expansion is part of SaskTel’s Rural Fibre Initiative, a multi-phase program investing $280 million to bring infiNET to nearly 200 rural communities by the end of 2027. Once completed, the network will serve almost 85 per cent of all households and businesses across the province.

“We are thrilled to bring the incredible speed and power of Saskatchewan’s largest fibre optic broadband network to these communities,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel president and CEO. “For SaskTel, the work we are doing to upgrade both our provincial broadband and wireless networks is more than just infrastructure improvements; it’s about building a brighter and more connected future for our province by ensuring the people of Saskatchewan have access to the tools and technologies they need to grow and thrive in the digital era.”
