While it was a quiet weekend for Biggar RCMP members, the days preceding certainly kept members busy.
Opening the detachment's June 9 report were reports of underaged drinking after a teen showed up from a house party under the influence of alcohol. Upon the news police sent members for sobriety checks, finding no troubles, with all drivers showing up compliant to the zero-tolerance rules for people under 21.

Picking up off last week's report that targeted semi-trucks using their engine brakes through town limits, members noted multiple speeding heavy haulers along the 3120 grid in the RM of Perdue.
"Making things too dusty out there and residents in the area would like you to abide by the 60 km/h restriction for heavy haulers." said Sgt. Dereck Crozier.

The final headline call came after an altercation between two very different canine opponents. While a weiner dog was enjoying some family time in the backyard, a loose pit bull managed to hurdle a 5-foot chain link fence to get to the dachshund and cause a scene. The offending dog, as well as its owner, turned out to be well known around town with multiple infractions of this nature.
Other notable calls during the week included cattle who found themselves on the wrong side of the fence near Highway 14, a 50-year-old male who reportedly had his rental truck stolen from a farmyard in Eagle Creek, and a reunion between a lost purse and its owner.
35 occurrences in total were noted during the week, various traffic violations resulting in seven tickets and ten warnings.
