UPDATE: June 11, 2025
Alberta Wildfire continues to respond to wildfire GWF040, located approximately 78 km south of Grande Prairie and 19 km east of Highway 40. The wildfire is estimated at 370 hectares in size, with firefighting crews, heavy equipment, and aircraft actively working in the area.
M.D. of Greenview evacuation order
The M.D. of Greenview issued an evacuation order yesterday which remains in effect. For everyone's safety, it's critical to follow all evacuation instructions, as wildfire conditions can change rapidly. Stay informed and be prepared to act immediately.

Forestry Trunk Road closure
The M.D. of Greenview has closed a portion of the Forestry Trunk Road. Access will be restored as soon as conditions allow. In the meantime, a temporary permit process is in place through the M.D. of Greenview. An evacuation order is in effect for everyone between the Smoky River and the Forestry Trunk Road, along all points accessed from the Forestry Trunk Road from km 70 to km 126.
There is an out of control wildfire at SW 27-63-3-W6 burning towards the Forestry Trunk Road.
If you are in the affected area, evacuate immediately. Gather pets, important documents and medication, enough food, water and supplies for at least 3 days, and leave now.
