About the Forbes Homestead
The Forbes Homestead was built from 1911 to 1912 by Reverend Alexander Forbes and his wife, Mrs. Agnes Forbes, making it both the oldest home and the first hospital in Grande Prairie.
The landmark is classified as a Provincial Historic Resource Site and was part of starting the settlement which led to the vibrant city we have today.
Forbes Homestead visitors can view household antiques, see how the Forbes family (and patients) lived and observe primitive medical equipment on display.
