Early Monday morning, a significant structure fire at Margaret Edgson Manor displaced an estimated 20 to 40 individuals, including several requiring mobility assistance. 

Initial temporary shelter has been provided at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) with support from Alberta Health Services and EMS. Arrangements for longer-term accommodations have been made with local hotels. 

The Grande Prairie Fire Department, RCMP, and GPPS safely evacuated all residents, with no loss of life reported. The Grande Spirit Foundation has assumed leadership in resident support and recovery efforts, with the city assisting in a supportive role.

Local businesses are offering aid, including Edwards Factory Outlet providing $200 per family for merchandise, and Home 2 Home allowing affected residents to take items from donation bins.
