A 13-year-old was arrested in Landmark last night for threatening other teenagers with a knife.

At approximately 8:50 pm, St. Pierre RCMP received a report that a 13-year-old male had threatened other teenagers while on the property of the Landmark Collegiate along Main Street.

When officers arrived, they found a group of children, aged 14 to 17 years old, on the grounds of the school.

It was reported to police that the teens were approached by another group of kids, with one male threatening to hurt the other kids with a knife.

The suspect was later identified as a 13-year-old male from Landmark.

He was arrested and has been released on a pending court date.

St. Pierre RCMP continue to investigate. 

In an emailed statement, a spokesperson for the Hanover School Division says the division is aware of the incident, and acknowledges there is an ongoing investigation.

"Hanover School Division remains committed to community safety and is cooperating fully with the RCMP," the statement says.
