The Prairie Pride Motel, located at the junction of Highway 21 and the Trans-Canada Highway, burned down on Tuesday night.
Maple Creek Mayor Michelle McKenzie reports that the fire occurred late in the evening. No injuries have been reported from this incident.
McKenzie applauded the hard work and response from the RM of Maple Creek Fire Department.

"And also the landowners around the area that helped contain this fire," said McKenzie. "Because it is close to a service station and the land going around is vulnerable to the wind. I can't say enough about the firefighters being able to keep this under control, contained, and being able to put it out."
The investigation into the cause of this fire is ongoing.
