After recent rains the Town of Kerrobert joined Kindersley and other communities in lifting their fire bans within town limits. Kerrobert's rescinded ban came on Monday, after Kindersley to the south lifted their ban before the weekend.
The common consensus is that the rain was much needed, but not enough to make a notable difference with conditions so dry. That fact was evidenced by Friday night's lightning storm between Macklin and Provost that caused multiple emergency responses.

That's why the current weather hasn't been enough for a majority of local Rural Municipalities to lift their ban. As of Tuesday morning, a large chunk of west-central Saskatchewan remained under a full ban, something to watch throughout the week with cloudy and rainy weather expected everyday outside of sunny weather on Thursday.
The provincial fire risk map still notes moderate to high fire index around the region. Continued caution will be necessary as the rain continues to fall, and if enough moisture can drive itself into the region the southern half of Saskatchewan should be able to match the low fire weather index now rated for most of the north where most of the damage has been done.
Tramping Lake, Coleville, Marengo, and Wiseton are all communities still listed with a local ban. It will be a situation worth monitoring the rest of the week with mostly cloud cover expected over the next week.
