A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for the area.

According to Environment Canada (EC), meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms that are capable of producing strong wind gusts, hail, and heavy rain.

"These thunderstorms are located 10 km northwest and 20 kilometres south of Strathmore and are moving slowly to the northeast," wrote EC. "Local travel delays are likely. Driving conditions will likely be difficult. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury."

If a thunderstorm approaches, the group asks that you stay inside. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.

"Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain," added EC.

The Severe Thunderstorm Warning also affects Wheatland County, including Lyalta and Carseland.
