As world leaders depart Canada following the 2025 G7 Summit, federal officials say residents should expect continued police presence and traffic disruptions during the demobilization process.

The Integrated Safety and Security Group (ISSG) announced on Tuesday that crews are now clearing equipment, removing police vehicles, dismantling security operations, and conducting environmental remediation at designated sites.

"Residents may also notice continued motorcade movements and increased traffic in and around the Calgary International Airport," the ISSG said in a statement. "This is a normal part of concluding large-scale security operations."

On Wednesday afternoon, Calgary Police had confirmed on their social media that the, "Airport Trail tunnel is now open."

However, officials did previously warn of possible temporary closures or rolling stoppages as motorcades move through the area.

Drivers are advised to follow all police directions.

The ISSG thanked local communities for their "cooperation and support in maintaining a safe and accessible environment throughout the 2025 G7 Summit" and asked for continued patience as the work proceeds.
