A 36-year-old man is dead following a crash Tuesday morning just north of St. Andrews Airport.
Selkirk RCMP say the crash, involving a large truck and a car, happened at around 11 a.m. on Highway 8 just north of Bay Road.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a large truck on its side in the west ditch and a car in the middle of the road.
RCMP say the large truck was travelling south on Highway 8 and the sedan was heading northbound when the car suddenly veered into the other lane, colliding head-on with the truck.
The driver, a 36-year-old male from Winnipeg and sole occupant of the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 67-year-old male from St. Pierre-Jolys, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Selkirk RCMP continues to investigate.
