A local rural municipality saw the most notable calls looking inside the June 16 Biggar RCMP report. Of 27 total occurrences, the RM of Eagle Creek seemed to steal the show according to local Staff Sgt. Dereck Crozier.

"Our volunteer First Responders were kept busy with a single vehicle rollover on Hwy 376 through the area, when a 15-year-old from Asquith practicing driving with her mother panicked at the wheel and ended up in the ditch." shared Crozier to start the report.

The nearby Eagle Creek Park then took centre stage after an individual in poor cell service range made an inadvertent call. Police shared that an attempted satellite call turned into an SOS call from an iPhone, leading to an emergency response to the area the call was coming from.

"All that was understood on the other end was that someone was on fire, creating dispatches to fire, police and STARS Air Ambulance until the source was confirmed and all was okay in the area."

The final report from the area involved two brothers in their 60's getting into a farming dispute. One thing led to another, and one brother climbed the tractor to deliver a punch resulting in a black eye for his sibling.

Other RM activity brought members out to the RM of Rosemount when a suspect attempted to hot wire a Case tractor. After failing, the suspect quickly turned to stealing the fuel which was successful unlike the wire escapade.

The rural crime activity didn't stop there. In the RM of Biggar members assisted SaskPower with the recovery of a meter from an alternate yard near Springwater Lake, the occupant stating they had no idea how it ended up on their property or how it was installed.

Returning to civilization, Biggar dealt with a 22-year-old from Macklin who ended up in the drunk tank. The beverages kept his mouth moving, but reaction time slow in attempts to start a fight on Main Street.

As always, Sgt. Crozier gave his best wishes to the public in their quest to "stay safe out there".
