Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Grande Prairie and Wembley

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the County of Grande Prairie, including Grande Prairie and Wembley.

Conditions are ripe for severe thunderstorms, potentially bringing strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain. Slow-moving thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, with some possibly becoming severe.

Funnel clouds may also form in northwest Alberta today, making driving conditions challenging.
