Several construction projects are taking place this June in Strathmore and several surrounding areas.
These are the projects that are in progress and upcoming this month:
Strathmore
Constructions crews will be working to upgrade underground utilities below Thistle Way.
The projects will start June 23 and is estimated to finish on Aug. 6.
Archie Klaiber Trail and Ridge Road will also undergo construction and have lane closures. Crews will be milling and paving these roads from June 25 to 27.
Milling and paving is also scheduled for Strathmore Lakes Way, Westmount Drive, and Strathford Boulevard. Intermittent closures of these roads will be in effect until June 30.
Wheatland County
Wheatland County is upgrading Township Road 240 from Range Road 270 to Highway 24.
Construction crews are scheduled to start June 19. The construction includes ditching and realigning the intersection at Railway Avenue. Crews will also improve the gravel.
The road will be closed from June 30 to Dec. 15.
Signs will be posted to direct traffic through detour routes.
Wheatland County will also be repairing various concrete paths starting June 17. The work is a part of the Carseland Cole Crescent Project and the 2022 Sidewalk Program.
Wheatland County advises motorists to obey the signage and drive safe.
Chestermere
Road maintenance is occurring in Chestermere.
The schedule for the installation of a sanitary line in Rainbow Road has been delayed. Construction will now start on June 30 and finish approximately July 14.
The road will be fully closed between Springmere Drive and Windermere Drive, and a detour route will direct traffic around this construction zone.
Gleichen
Gleichen is maintaining its trees.
A tree cutting crew will be maintaining and removing trees along 9 Avenue and 7 Avenue throughout the week of June 24.
Trees have been marked with flags for removal, and residents in the areas will be sent notices.
Replacement trees are scheduled to be planted in the fall.
