This weekend brought a ton of semi-trucks to Steinbach for the Southeast Truck Show.
Organizer Bill Schroeder says that the truck show started 5 years ago to help his daughter working for Youth For Christ raise enough to finance her year.
“I figured I'd get 10,12,13 trucks together, have a little bit of a shindig, and make a couple bucks. Well, that ended up being 41 semis' and we may raise over $10,000.”
They decided to donate the extra money to local charities and have been doing so ever since.
Not only does this event support local charities; Schroeder says they like to help more personal causes as well.
“We also helped somebody who just had her husband die. With 5 younger kids, we just helped them out financially. So yeah, we like doing the more personal stuff too.”

This event brought support from many communities including Winkler, and the Holland area.
“It makes you feel good that people make an effort for it. Those guys especially. They drive all that way. It costs them a lot of money for fuel and everything. They still do it just for the event.”
Schroeder says that this event couldn't have happened without the hard work of the volunteers.
“Thank you to everybody who took part in this. It takes a lot of volunteers’ day of. It looks pretty. But there's a lot of work ahead of time, and thanks to everybody who's making an effort to do it.”
